Its interesting how Oleg says that they are still developing the engine, I thought he had said in previous interviews that this was already completed?

also... i thought Oleg had always said his team and him had nothing to do with BOP?

i think we can see now why SOW has taken so long.

He didn't say anything different - just the writer of the article concluded, that IL2 and IL2 BOP must be from the same team.

Infact Oleg states what his findings were with BOP and what "they" achieved. I doubt he'd say so, if he was infact working on BOP.

@ Tree_UK:
Changes and adaptions to the engine will continue even after the release. Please remember that new flightmodells, effects and support for modern hardware was worked on for 8 years after the release of IL2.

Hmmm, Oleg doesn't make it clear that he was not involved in BOP although he has strenously denied it in the past, If this is true he will not be at all happy with the opening statement to this article,

Oleg Maddox, the founder of Maddox Games and the force behind highly acclaimed IL-2 1946 PC title and more recently IL-2: Birds of Prey, takes time out of his schedule to discuss the history, heritage and challenges he and his team faced creating what are now considered to be some of the best flight sim games.

Now, if Oleg is happy with the statement is surely a different question, but as I posted, your quote is the only indication that OM is directly involved in the product and it is largely the only thing in this article that OM didn't say.

In all seriousness (at my own risk_lol)...why would Oleg lie about it? What would the advantage be?

Is there any point is speculating? Quite seriously, I don't really understand why you guys are so bothered if he's involved with BoP. I'll be very, very glad if the game is a financial success, it'll reassure publishers that flight-sims are very much worth investing in, which can only be a good thing.
