I'm very sorry to say, but as the game runs now, and probably will always, there's one simple rule: host is boss. He is the one making an effort to let others play the game, and he can do whatever he wants. If you don't like it, host your own game. Simple as that.
As far as I'm concerned, no one comes off as being a 'recalcitrant teenager' if he applies his own rules in his own room.

P.S. Yeah, we got you play without comms to reduce lag from your first post. Not sure why you keep mentioning it.
