Default Wellington Bomber Pics from Brooklands Museum.

Hi all,

I recently visited the Brooklands Museum near Weybridge, London, UK.

Brooklands is the home of British aviation and motor sport. It was also where the Vickers-Armstrong Wellington was designed and built.

The main exhibit is of a Wellington bomber. This aircraft ditched in Loch Ness in 1940 during a training exercise due to an engine failure. All crew except the rear gunner survived. (IIRC the aircraft had completed about 15 operational missions prior to this).

The aircraft was discovered in 1985 by a team searching for the Loch Ness Monster!

The aircraft is still being restored today.

I've also included a few other pics of the site. Well worth a visit!

I hope that you enjoyed the tour!
