Default Request for naval auxiliaries

Over the past couple of weeks I've been working on a new single mission set, with the first mission to be based on the first wave of the 7 December 1941 attacks on Oahu. While spotting ships around the harbor, it occurred to me that three existing objects could be modified to great effect by re-skinning them. Giving the dry cargo ship, the liquid cargo ship, and even the coastal steamer all-gray paint schemes, with gray funnels and superstructures, and mid- or dark-gray decks would transform them into naval auxiliaries. An all-gray dry cargo ship could pose as anything from a submarine or seaplane tender to an ammunition transport, and an all-gray liquid cargo ship would do nicely as a fleet oiler.

Another new skin came to mind as well. Giving the dry cargo vessel an overall white paint scheme, with wooden decks, red crosses on the funnel and the sides of the hull, and a horizontal green stripe around the hull, centered on the red crosses, would make for a very nice hospital ship, an object which, like the above-described all-gray auxiliaries, would be appropriate for any navy. Of course, in addition to the new paint scheme, the hospital ship would have to be disarmed.

In any event, once again, many thanks to TD for the work so far.

BTW, the work on the new single missions is going well, if slowly. Knock wood, it should be available from M4T sometime in the not-too-distant future.
