About Mods in general, personally, I am really between two chairs...there have been great, even amazing mods for games-look at OFF for CFS3. It's a mega-mod and it's better, far better, than the game itself. Or SH3 and SH4...there are some very nice things done there, like Trigger Maru or GWX. The thing is that modding is anarchism-because there is no quality control, no final approval by some higher instance. Modding is letting everyone write on paper and hope for a book of fine litterature. Sometimes it works out, most is of very poor quality--or/and it breaks the same amount of stuff it tends to repair. What I think is nice though are the new textures for maps and cockpits and such. They hurt nobody and some are really nice. I think Oleg should have allowed such a thing from the start. Even whole map making. But I loath those so called "new planes." Incredible such garbage actually gets applause over at AAA.

I agree textures and maps and things of that nature or fine...even FMB/QMB mods are ok IMO. While i'd prefer the go through Oleg for approval...i could live with it if it were just those. but it's not.
