Default Interesting army makeups

Having played through the human and orc campaign and mostly through the elf (Easy Difficulty, to my shame... I"m on Desperate Drive)) I was trying to think of how to make this an interesting game to replay. Aside from attempting to get golds on all the missions on Hard (not enough motivation, IMO) I figured the only way to make the game interesting and replayable was to use a certain type of unit or only a couple types of units. I like mobility and giving the enemy few chances to retaliate so decided to go with Scouts, Archers (Forest and Terrain type, not Xbows) and Flyers with a pair of Yeomen for space fillers. It's worked surprisingly well thus far, even at Verson where one would expect heavy infantry to be more effective. I'm still playing on Easy, which might have something to do with it, but it's rather satisfying to kill stuff without giving them a chance to retaliate.

Anyone else done some interesting armies? I'd like to hear them .
