ancient ent's abilities?

hi, not sure if this the right part of the forum to post this, but i guess im asking for a hint as to how this ability works and what its supposed to do?

Im talking about the ancient ents, which as far as i know, up to now, you can only recruit from the elven wizards home which is locked till you beat the two roaming armies in the elven lands.

These ents have two abilities,
1) wasp swarm which is the same as normal ents. (works fine, select it and you see a little swarm which damages your selected target.)
2) summon wasps


Now the first ability works fine, but im just not seeing anything happen when i select the second ability. The ent does a little animated move but no damage incurs on anyone, and nothing appears. Is this working as intended or am i missing something?
