I know this issue has been covered countless times and I apologise for dragging it up again but I've yet to find an acceptable solution to what I see as the single most annoying bug in the game.
My experience of the issues is this: On takeoff the plane (either Huricane or Spitfire) will pull hard to the left, which I would expect due to the engine torque. I can generally counter this and get the plane in the air, once up the plane will roll gently to the right, not to the left which engine torque would cause. This effect changes with airspeed/engine speed and prob pitch but never completely goes. This would point at it being linked to engine torque and/or propwash but as already mentioned its the wrong direction. I'm not subscribing to the 'use rudder trim' to cure it as thats acting on a completely different axis to the ailerons/roll axis. Even if it did work, which I cant get it to it would be a fairly poor masking of the problem imo. Almost forgot, torque effects on or off, makes no difference. One thing I have noticed is that if you look out of each side of the plane the ailerons are trimmed slightly to induce the roll right and the flight stick apears to be very slightly leaning to the right also (its very slight but its there). Could it be that the plane has been ground rigged to counter the engine torque from rolling it left and simply been over done? My joystick appears to be calibrated ok in both windows control panel and the axis bars centre nicely in the game controls menus. I'm open to any calibration tips/ticks but the rolling problem exists with no joystick at all and using keys. Again, apologies for dragging this up but resolving this would really make the game more enjoyable. Thanks John |
