Yes, both the screen and the log window showed only 1 hp damage inflicted. And, no, I was not using the spell Avenging Angel (nor the equivalent Skald talent; which is a waste of runes btw). In a different fight than my screenshots, a stack of Devilfish did 1 hp damage in 1 round, then normal damage in their next round's attacks. If there's a pattern there, I can't figure it out.

there is a pattern with Avenging Angel (not the talent), but not with random occurances otherwise. Like my screenshot seems to imply, it does not seem to affect things like lifedrain that scale from damage done.
Another fun fact: If the Jarl's armor ability kicks in when a 1 dmg attack occurs, its even reduced to 0.

On another note, the patch seems to have fixed several titles. I was awarded Dragonslayer and Beloved of the Gods after completing Hilda and Christa's Lv5 quests, both ingame and on steam. Several others seem to have been fixed judging by steam global stats: Lord of the Giants, Heart of Flint, Black Death.
