Default 109s in particular tend to disapear at mid-near range

S! all,

This Subject might have already be done to death, but doing a Google search I cannot find a thread on this specific topic, not one that is less than 6 months old anyways.

I’m not sure how many others have this “problem” but I’ve heard a few people being exasperated by this on comms.

It seems to me that the 109 has the remarkable ability to disappear, just as the “dot” changes to the 3d polygon at around 2km, and then it re-appears at the 500-700m range, usually right on my tail None of the other aircraft seem to do this, although the 110 can beceom very difficult to see in this mid-range, but not to the extent of the 109.

What I think is happening is the following: The long-mid range textures for the 109 are completely,or close to, the sky-blue colour, whereas the same textures for all other aircraft take the dominant paint scheme fro that type/ skin –which in almost all aircraft types is brown (RAF) or dark green (LW). The 109 seems to be the only type with the skins to result in this little disappearing act.

I’m not arguing for longer dotrange here, the long distance dots are OK IMO. I addition, I know that camouflage is there for a purpose, and I have no issue with certain elements of difficulty with respect to aerial observation, but I do find it exasperating that I can have a perfect visual awareness of an aircraft at 1.5km, only to lose sight of that very same aircraft as it draws closer, all other conditions (weather, direction) remaining the same.

My suggests to remedy this, would be: 1. to have that set of texture/polygons that load at the greater distance to include more poly’s which represent the higher contrast elements of the airframe, 2. to increase the overall contrast or aircraft colouring

Does anyone else experience this? Are there monitor settings potentially at play here (lack of contrast)? Are there other suggestions for resolving this?Is this on the developer’s radar at all?
