As for the amount of squads you can have under command, there is a limit. You can have command over not more than 20 squads. As for the amount of units in a squad, there are three amounts. E.G. a knights' squad can consist of 20, 30, 40- units if you form it in Custom Battles. IF you create it in Single mode, it can consist even of 400 units. So the engine allows to increase the number of units.
