So, I got my 570 last week. It had problems from the beginning.
First thing I noticed when I went to pick my pc up was the tech was performing a benchmark with latest program. Was going good untill windows stopped it due to an error. I brushed it off figuring it was a glitch in software or something. Secondly, I came home with my rig, hooked it all up, plugged my HDMI cable in, booted up......no signal to the monitor. Plugged the DVI in to see what happens...it works. Not as clear a screen as with HDMI but I can live with it. Must be a driver I ammissing I figured. Tried searching the net for some hints as to what it might be. No joy for my sypmtoms. Thirdly, I play CLoD, looks great....graphics on high, great fps, smooth play with no hicups....excellent. I jump out of game and shut down the pc as I am going out for a bit. Come home, boot up, and get a screen that syas something about over clocking. Now I don't oc any card, don't really know how to do it with the voltages and all that...besides..its factory over clocked. So I start it up, all seems normal until I try to access my nvidia control panel, I get a screen thta states there is no plug and play device plugged into my card. The screen looses its resolution and goes to default 800x600. Baffled I check device manager and see the Nvidia GTX570 in the list with a yellow warning icon....its properties states error code 43. Now, searching the net for an explanation I find it could be a driver issue or bad hardware. So I put my older EVGA GTS250 back in and it boots fine, even with HDMI plugged in...no problems at all. Baffled I do a fresh reinstall of win7 and all drivers...etc, etc. Still the same...it says something about over clocking on boot up and the same when trying to access the nvidia control panel. I took out both 250's to try the 570 by itsellf...same..put both 250's back in..works fine. At this point I am ready to rip someones heaqd off....namely the #@*%er who put this stuff in...thermaltake 750 wat psu and the 570. I bring this stuff back to the store to have them check it out today. Waiting a reply and a possible assualt charge if they bullshit me. So...does anyone here have any ideas as to what this may be....I have a feeling its a bad card. Whiskey |
