I upgraded to a i2500k @4.4ghz and a gtx570 last week. Since then no more ctd's and slide show performance. The sounds have improved but I have a problem hearing the machine guns. If I turn my head sideways I can hear them faintly. Cannons are ok. I have all the settings maxed out now and get from 42 average in the black death track. Most of the qmb missions run between 50 and 60 fps. Only thing that slows me down are clouds, they cost between 10-20 fps so I turn them off most off the time. Same with the mirrors. They look lousy and cost me 5fps so they're gone also. It's still not as smooth as Il2 at the same framerates but no more anoying stutters.

When I read the next patch will give 50% increase in FPS I'm worried. Every patch so far has increased performance a bit but makes it look a bit less glorious. I'm used to the way it looks now and it looks stunning. I also have the prepatch version on my harddrive and it simply looks better. Runs fine on my rig but has no E4 and has a few other things porked that the last patch fixed. So, if you have a fast computer and don't mind reinstalling the program every now and then after a new update, get the program.
