Default External Views for Full Real?

This is another one for you “full real” enthusiasts. How about a new option allowing external views only during ground operation? Keep in mind that you cannot operate your aircraft while using an external view in CoD. I have 2 reasons for this request.
First, it would be nice to be able to assess damage to your own aircraft both before and after a sortie. After sortie assessment is obvious—it would be very interesting to see how badly you were damaged after limping back from a tough dog fight. You may want to check things out before a sortie too. Say your airfield was just attacked while you were warming up. Some bombs landed close by and shook you up a bit, but you are not sure if any damage was done. It would be nice to take a look to see if you are missing any parts, and check all control surface movement before attempting to take off. In real life a ground crew member may have been around to help you out with this, but it’s always best for a pilot to check out his own aircraft.
Secondly, it would be nice to be able to determine where you are in relation to the runway after you spawn on an unfamiliar airfield. In real life pilots actually had the opportunity to view the entire area as they walked from the bar out to their crate. A quick outside look can be very helpful in getting to the runway and off the ground safely. How many times have you taxied all over the air field only to find out you were spawned just a few feet from the runway.
