Default If your server wont show up...

Since we performed an OS reinstall on the dedicated machine we were having problems trying to get steam to perform a handshake and show up on the server list. We tried various things, settings, re-installs, etc, throughout the period of 12 hours and it would never work. But following these steps we got the server to show up again, almost within a 10 minute time frame.

1st thing is to make sure you are running the game with steam, as in actually starting the dedicated server via steam. I know there's tons of shortcuts out there that will allow you to not use steam, but wait to use those until steam's browser recognizes your server.

So if you go to the steam game library and right click on IL2COD / go to properties / set launch options, and add this bit of code through the command line (only parts in bold): -server +si_name "your server name here"

I was researching the problem as it appears it's quite common, and one thing everyone said to use was the +si_name code. I guess that somehow forces a rename for your dedi server and talks to steam. (though it didn't rename the server to what I told it to) it was the only additional thing and it magically appeared on the list. The -server part is just telling the launcher for IL2COD to start as a dedi server.

The other thing I did was to add the physical IP address to the confs.ini under the IP section. But this had been done long before so I don't think that mattered.

Obviously if it's not showing up, make sure you can direct connect to it in the 1st place to rule out a firewall issue.

Hope this helps.
