I don't believe for a second that SAS and American special forces use airsoft. You train with the gear that you use in the field, and airsoft guns aren't as loud, aren't as heavy and don't have nearly as much recoil as real weapons. Not to mention the muzzle velocities are way lower.
General dynamics makes what is called Simunition, a variety of different rounds that can be fired through real weapons. My military friends say they use this when they train; I'd be willing to bet that most other armed forces use similar products.
