Following up on another thread I am doing some tests with the following utility:

What I did is add both Steam.Exe and Launcher.Exe to the games.txt file of the application, run it, then changed the resolution in the conf.ini of CoD (the one in the documents folder-> 1C softclub etc.) to double the max resolution my monitor supports (since my monitor supports 1360x768 I turned it to 2720 x 1536, testing now with 4x resolution). Now when I started the game I noticed a problem, it did catch the high res at the startup logo but the menu and subsequent items would revert to default. My solution has been to just keep the conf.ini file open in notepad so it can't be overwritten by the game but to be honest I'm not sure if that is how it works. Now running the Black Death track I did notice it looked higher res but my eyes could be deceiving me, fps certainly did drop though. P.S. Be careful when using this utility, for me it messed up the placement of my on screen gauges and didn't revert them back after, also the Tiger Moth suddenly turned grey amongst some other small graphic bugs. So use at your own risk! I made one test screenie but have no real other good screens of before to compare it to ![]() ![]() So yeah, if you're feeling like experimenting you could try it out, also note the nice three blue lines along the horizon. Yay for having a Radeon hd6970 ![]() And another: ![]() Last edited by W0ef; 05-02-2011 at 07:50 PM. |
