Bail out, please?

I have run into some problems when playing cod. It could be me doing something wrong...

Anyway, when I command something I hear or see nothing. If I for instance ask my crew to bail out or to give a status report I hear or see nothing. The same goes for all other commands.

What am I doing wrong? Or is it game-related?
