Don't know who knocked it out but close up photos on the news showed the pilot ejected way to close to the deck and was killed.

The mid east is turning into a real boiling pot. Military spending cuts are looking more and more stupid to me

Looked like a Mig-23 to me, part of the resistance wasn't it? Pity he died, but in a civil war it was always going to happen.

I don't think Gaddafi will just up and leave, the way he's going - it looks like he might be tried for war crimes.. Could end in another Saddam Hussein, hopefully not though.
