How about the doolittle raid?
Instead of Mitchells though, use the A20's? Instead of a carrier, use the furthest point possible in France, so that you have the biggest amount of ocean to fly over. Make the target an airfield somewhere, and make it a low level raid. Have others land any plane with AI gunners, B17, HE111 etc at the target airfield, they are actinas the AAA  Could work....
