Two players Same Router

Hey guys I tried searching but can't really find anything on it. My brother and I are using two separate accounts on the same router/connection and can't seem to join any servers. We can host a server that other people can join and we both can play on. Is there anyway we can both connect to other servers with the same router/connection?
