Crashing Problem

Hello, I am a huge RPG Fan, and have been playing for years Gothic 1,2 & 3 . I saw this game today Kings Bounty The Ledgends and was EXCITED.. allas its crashing. It installs, I set my player and once in the first area " maybe 20secs into the first room. My screen goes to sleep mode and the PC freezes completely. I have downloaded the Patch and still it Crashes. Please help if possible. I am using Windows XP Home edition.

Memory: 1982MB RAM
