I can sympathisize with your feelings of frustration, but in these games you will sometimes have to adapt your favourite strategies or try something new completely. In the end, that's part of the charm. You say you're a mage, but you mention only your troops, not the kind of spells you have. Have you tried nuking him with spells like Elwin suggested?
