Fighting against micromachines planes ... ?
As I stated in another post, this is clearly the best if not the only one flight simulator for the latest consoles ... that makes it the better.
With it, I have returned to the flight arena from about 8 years ago (latest fligh sim I remember was the 1942 Pacific Air War and Rowan's Battle of Britan). So far, I was not in situation of having a good machine for the requiremetns of the incoming flight sims. But one thing that has surprised me is the field of view and view depth of the game. It seems to me (IMHO) that the planes size in pixels decreased too much with the distance, being really hard to me (a rookie) to aim and, mainly, to locate and keep tracking of the enemy planes in Simulator mode. In my current screen resolucion (not Full HD, but at least 1600x1024) it seems like a ME109 is seems as a simple pixel when it is 1km or more far ... Is this realistic? Taking an excerpt from http://www.spitfireperformance.com/s...combat-reports, which contains real combat reports: Quote:
I know the human eye has far higher-resolution than what a simple screen could provide and perhaps this justify that you only have 1 to 4 pixels to represent a plan at this distance but, I don't know but, I still feel that the planes are painted too small when they are 1 km or more far, I don't understand yet how the skilled sim players are able to find the enemy simply using the map and the hat (with the additional difficulty of the plane cabin) ... What the hell is the trick? Am i the only one that thinks that results too complex to locate a plane in the sim mode? And more if we talk of distinguishing the kind of plane, or simply locating a ground target. My feeling is that this doesn't happened to me in other previous games like the 1942 refered one ... I didn't need to be only at 100m to distingush a aicraft gun in the terrain. Perhaps this is mroe a question for the senior players that comes from previous releases of Il-2 and whouls have discuss this over and over again. I don't know if this is realistic, or simply a charactreristic of the game, or a lack of resolution from my screen, or simply that I'm still too busy simply flying as to extract more information from some other factors like the color tone of the pixels of similar ...
