Default In Pursuit - The bible of aerial combat (PDF)

A pilot's guide to online air combat (2005), written by Johan Kylander. This book contains most of the elementary knowledge that a virtual pilot should know. Topics are divided into six great chapters:

* Environment
* Flight and Combat Tactics
* Advanced Combat Maneuvers
* You are the enemy
* Never alone
* Community

This is a must-read. If you want to destroy online this is the thing to read.

It's a great read. Highly recomended and only surpassed by Robert Shaw's "Fighter Combat Tactics and Maneuvering.

Default *Bump*

Bumping this thread as it is old, and I feel it is useful to newer pilots. I read this a while back and found it enlightening--if a bit self-indulgent at times.

The guy definitely knows his stuff and a lot of it applies to IL2 combat.

Yeah it really is. I'm rereading it. I suspect this is mainly because it helps me deal with the withdrawal symptoms when I'm unable to play the game for most of the day
