hahah

This is the same guy who almost had a stroke waiting for the launch of the game's SITE.

Now the actual game, with the graphics, engine, physics and features - the whole killer package, the reason a lot of people (and probably you) check this forum every day; but only 8 planes flyable out of the box is now NOT worth buying?

You are a mystery, dude. That is rich.

p.s: we all know there's more flyable planes than just those.

Based on what I have read about the game on this forum and in the previews, there will be about 40 flyable planes in the game.

Of the 40 flyable planes, 12 Allied planes will be featured in the Single player historical campaign mode.

All 40 planes will be flyable in the Single player "Instant Action" (Training) mode as well as the Multiplayer mode.

must have never played IL2 in your life. 8 planes IS a reason not to get the game and you are a braindead fanboy if you think "teh graphics" can compensate for actual content in the game

Im not spending 60 dollars on a demo

The original IL2 came with very few flyable aircraft, it was after all a study sim of a single ground attack plane. Its 2009 now and has over 200 flyable aircraft. You might not get that many in BoP but what you have to understand is less planes = higher overall quality of the planes that are in. Check out Falcon 4, Lomac and DCS:BS. Not many flyables but very high quality.

Programming a complex flight model and damage model based on flight data is quite a complex task. Comparing it to hawx which you can almost certainly say does not have either a complex flight model or a flight model based on real world data isn't very valid.

if i recall correctly, the first il-2 didnt even support playable flight modelling for multi-engine a/c, hence you could only fly single engined ones. they added that in the forgotten battles release.

i think its common knowledge now that there is going to be more than 8 flyable planes, but there has to be a balance or all the fantastic work that has gone into producing this title will be wasted if the core mechanics of the flight modelling is pants. go buy blazing angels if you're not fussed by that.

Hello,
Anton has countersigned the declaration of Hineni! There will be 40 playable aircrafts in the game! Look to the word "also"!

No secret here
There will be more, than 40 flyable planes - most of them available for Training and MP, 12th in Campaign, and some others in Single missions.
