I don't recall any issues keeping up with the patches, and I'd suggest that anyone who can count shouldn't have either.
But then I don't care to 'assisted' to keep my games up-to-date, it's a PC, not an xbox.

Just not a fan of steam.

Glad to hear that you know how to patch a game from merely a Zip-file, have the right zip- or rar- program, know in which folder you installed your game, know how to choose which folder of the game to overwrite.

It may be shocking to you, but many people are not as familiar with the usage of PCs and scared to permanently overwrite files. If you check out the numerous threads with questions and pre/post-patch-questions gives you a good indication what is going on.

When assisting people, you don't orient with those who already know, but with those who do NOT know.

Conversely, one could say that the only people who should be pilots are people smart enough to fly aeroplanes, real or virtual.

If Neoqb want to publish a game rather than a sim that's their business - but no one should be surprised at the level of protest from sim fans and experienced computer users.

Protest from Sim-Fans - exactly.

But that is the point: The only way to survive in this Niche market is to attract new players. And aiming only at the flight-sim-experienced crowd is surely the wrong way.

And then something else strikes the reader of the blog, as it was also put by one user:
If somebody claims to be a fullhearted flighstim-fan who will overcome any obstacle to fly flightsims, even fiddle around with PCs enough to install patches, addons, make skins, mods, etc and then says that he won't buy the game, because it has an online account (as most other games released now), he's simply undermining his own credibility.

If somebody has no internet, that is a different matter, but most of the people complaining do so, because it's released via STEAM.

And besides the points you posted, it's rather a question what benefits it brings for the developer. STEAM offers GameContent to be bought and added (instead of addons released like IL2), reliable cheat protection, it also saves a lot of money and it makes the current DRMs of a limited number of installations obsolete:

Customer service wasn't the best though, had to wait a long time for a reply, but there may have been mitigating circumstances for that. I do feel for those without an internet connection though, I can empathise as I was in the same boat myself for a while......and I have to say it is not particularly fair on them. But they go with market research and the majority I suppose....still sucks though.

Looks to me like their aiming enough at the Flight Sim market, just because the game keeps stats tracking and uses steam doesn't make it a NON_Sim game. It's a simulator alright and it's looking to be the most autentic and realistic ww1 sim out there with a quality level equal/or better of IL2.

I am very much looking forward to this simulation.

The Great War has been overlooked for far too long.

Massive furballs?

Bring it!
