Default Stuck In Adventure Mode

Hey Everyone,

I have hit a rough spot in adventure mode.

I am a level 26 mage. (16.6k leadership, +16 Attack, +14 Defense, 25 intellect) I went to Demonis to fight Xeona to get the key to Haas' Labrynth. I avoided most of the fights there, as they were more difficult than Xeona and I barely beat her with an army of elves.

I replaced my army afters its narrow victory with an army of demons.

I have done my due diligence get a wife (Neoka), do all the quests and fights, including Gremlin's castle, and I have the Skull of Pain down to like 23% by saving the Gremlin's castle to do until after I acquired it.

The fights in demonis are still difficult with heavy losses, and the spirit of Haas bosses blobking my path to the Orc land are near impossible.

So I am more or less stuck: I cannot afford (gold wise) any losses from any fights I can take. Can anyone offer me some advice? What area should I be questing in? Maybe I need a special dragon killing army? (Demons and Knights?)

I know divorcing Neoka and getting Xenona would help by giving me more weapon slots and raising the attack/defense of my army considerably, but I want to avoid _divorce_ if I can. But if it is the only way to beat the game...

Thank you for any advice!

You've completed the undead lands as well, I guess...(since you've entered the Labyrinth).

Are you playing on Impossible? I never have, so I guess you ought to be very economical with your budget and losses...

Default Some Strategies

Hello all, I was able to work this out.

The Pain Skull (-50% mana) was holding me back.

I found several fights I did not do all around the world, and was able to cast out the demon.

This allowed me the mana I needed to 1) Hypnosis demons 2) ressurrect my troops 3) cast haste & bless

Also, I took Xeona as my wife. Now I have three weapon slots and two boots, which added like +10 attack and +10 defense in totality

true. though i haven't reached your level but thus far, i focused on defence and intellect. Attack was never my choice when I have a choice to make when leveling up.

did you read the 'not losing a single unit on impossible while being a mage' thread? seems that summoning demons to use as meat shield is rather effective. And the more intellect i have, the more units i summon to be my shield.

Sometimes from the zombie in Marshan Swamps, anywhere random and always from the Orcish Shaman in Elven Lands - either you defeat him or you can get it as reward - or you buy it from his shop...

No, the orc in Ellinia always has the ancient skull, not the pain skull. I have only found the pain skull twice in three full games, once at the dwarven necro's house, and once in Karador's castle after i beat him.

The first time I beat Karador I find the pain skull available in Neocrom. I initially thought it must have something to do with Karador until I bother myself to read the description.
