Is any way to follow the story of the game?

Or you go around and make missions from everyone try to find out more exp and leadership?

To get better units?

So whats the point?

The main quests are the quests given to you by the king and are marked with the crown in your quest log. It will take a while for the main story to develop - this game is HUGE.
