Those issues were most often corrected. The only real issues in IL-2 are a LACK of aircraft, not so much the modelling of the existing ones. For example, I would have liked to see a +11 Tempest modelled, instead of only the +9 early model we got. But I can't complain about how the +9 version performs, it is very accurate to the tests I've seen of a +9 boost Tempest.

+11 Tempest ?..... look and youll find..........!!!!!!!!

The issue with the +9/+11 business is that information on the +9 is easier to find than the +11. I'd have hoped that Oleg had more information than we did but I think it was originally the other way around. We tried for the +11 or +13 but not enough information available...something is probably buried in some archives but they haven't been found yet.

IMHO IL2 does have enough planes, but there are minor issues there and there: radiator not helping in some US Navy aircraft, FW190 cant out-accelerate a Spitfire in dive(and doesn't retain extra speed as well), Tempest turns too well at low speed, late 109s dont turn quite well enough at high speeds, most Yaks dont have fuel gauges, La5FN cannot be stalled(properly), the list goes on and on.

With such a huge number of different aircraft its stunning how even most of them are correct, and moreover, that they are correct(ish) when compared to each other. As Kurfurst and CO pointed out in some ooold Ubi topic, the developing team seems to have considered the speed and turning time most important, and (apparently) due to the limitations of the game's engine, getting those two correct has led to problems in climb, acceleration and energy retention.

Default Updates

Oleg has answered a few questions in the last week, do you guys expect him to produce an update every week?
Remember less is more.
Let me clarify, if Oleg was producing standard fare he would be able to churn out updates at whim. The fact that he does not means what he is developing he does not want his competition to see.
Now the only reason for that is it must be gobsmacking!
It must be leagues ahead of the rest...
Okay PR work done.
This is what some of you sound like:
WHAAAAAAAAAAAA were is my update, sniff, if you don't I am going to buy Rise of Flight (hint this is a threat - Oleg you had better cave in and release me a big update).

Guys get a life, yeah sure Rise of Flight is near, but I have never met a simmer yet that does not buy everything that flies. My guess is Oleg knows this too.

My guess is that most people have left this forum and the Ubi one as well. You just see the same few people post, with hardly any traffic. All that are left are the Oleg worship fan boys. I am sure the game will be released when it is done but a lot of people won't be around. Many will come back to the game when released and many won't. Give people information with regular updates and you can nurture a large fan base.

Have fun at your ever shrinking hot dog party. And I won't let the door hit me.

It's true this forum and the fan fair around IL2 has died down to only the hardcore nuts.

The problem is PC based WWII Combat Sims are.... Well shall we say on the decline. Take a look at all the combat sims out there... They are at a minimum of a few years old.

I know Black Shark is on it's way but it's not going to be that big of a splash because what advertising have you see recently... That would be none. How many World of Warcraft Commercials have you seen?

It's really sad to see just how tiny the Genre is. Go back through all the titles in the past. It's really amazing to see how much it's shrunk.

Give me a break, you cannot help yourself and we all know you will be back

Agreed the genre is small, it always has been. WOW has 10 000 000 players.
SOW will never have that many. For one you need a joystick, that excludes a lot of people straight away.
The important thing for people like bhunter2112 to note is this is not a SOW site but an IL2 site. The SOW website is not even up.
All bhunter2112 posts is "I want an update" "I am a customer" blah, blah, blah...

Again the genre is smaller but the products coming out are better.
