Default Strange Shading Issue

I recently attempted an update to most recent WHQL Nvidia drivers (306.97).

After updating, I noticed that when I spawned my aircraft I didn't have any shadows applying to the aircraft. The aircraft exterior was dark, as if inside a hangar, and the sun did not play across its surface at all. Everything else seemed okay.

Other aircraft in the sim also had the same appearance.

Now, I was able to get the sunlight to apply to aircraft, but I can't say how it was accomplished. I tried spawning outside of hangars, spawning online on ATAG server, etc. etc. Various things worked and then didn't work.

I'm trying uninstalling the game entirely and reinstalling, but I was wondering if anyone else had encountered this.

I have an eVGA 580 GTX vid card, an i7 940 processor, 12 GB of system ram. I've reverted back to 306.23 drivers and I'm reinstalling the game right now. I was also running the SweetFX injector for a while with no issues before this happened.

Yeah, I recalled that after I did the update.

I seem to have tracked it down though. It seems to be related to the amount of objects I've put in a mission and then hosted locally. Specifically:

I have an English Channel map with spawn locations at many airfields and 3inch AAA guns placed in many many locations. Previously, the map had run fine. However, recently I upped the number of AAA spots. I tested the map with removing the AAA I'd added and the shading went okay. Shadows fine and all.

So it seems that if you're hosting locally, adding too many active objects into the map can do weird things to your graphics?? Not completely confirmed yet, but it seems like that's what was going on.

There might be something else weird going on....

I'm working in the mission builder and all my roads that should be pavement look like grass when I zoom in closer. From higher up they look fine, but down low they look like this:
