Performance-boost for i7
I use EPU-6 software for my i7 920! Without this software i have stutters as hell! If i use it, i put the settings on "rocket" and COD runs smooth and almost without stutters! But don't use the Auto-setting because it don't works right with COD! You must set it manual on the highest level and it works ( makes some noises, but who cares!)!
It's a freeware from Intel and it's also a good energysafer!

Are you talking about ASUS?

It is a fact, a i7 overclocked by 600-800MHz performs substantially better at CoD. ~S~ Last edited by 335th_GRAthos; 08-08-2012 at 06:02 AM. |

Agree, you should simply overclock your i7-920. It should easily do 600-800 mhz more, no matter which review/stepping you have. I have one of the first reviews, which is less overclockable, but I run mine @3.8ghz (i must say, that I also cool with water), but 3.3 - 3.6 should be good enough to see differences. Your cpu currently bottlenecks with its raw power and you can easily solve that bottleneck. If you bought you i7 not directly at the beginning, it is possible, that you have one with other stepping. I have C0 stepping, which is the oldest stepping from i7 920. Perhaps you have a mainboard with a bios, which already has tweaking options on the fly. Perhaps you try that at first and afterwards get some help from another guy. I am also not very good in that, but it all runs stable.
My mainboard e.g. gives me the option to use the clocks of an i7-940 or i7-965. Easy as that. |

Nothing to be sorry about Attila,
I am sorry (or rather jealous) that I did not have such an easy software and had to learn to overclock the hard way instead ~S~ |
