Not really, if i was that annoyed i could solve it with a few clicks of the mouse, but i don't believe that it's good moderation to simply shut people up.
It's certainly faster than making an effort to answer you and overlook your aggressive attitude, but i'm thick skinned enough and i believe it's good for users to understand the situation first so they can make a choice themselves.
I'm just describing the situation and users are free to do as they see fit and reap the consequences, positive or negative. In other words, if people get banned it's entirely their own choice.

From where i'm standing it seems you don't like this whole thing being exposed for what it is (aggressive one-liner reply, no real effort to answer, etc). Well, the solution is very simple. If you feel uncomfortable when people talk about it, you can simply avoid associating yourself with such behaviours

Good questions Lewis, I personally have no idea whatsoever why we aren't seeing jam packed dogfight/coop servers at the moment. If I'm allowed to have share a theory, it might be all the negativity on this forum that have scared away people. After all, the game is pretty solid, especially all the neat multiplayer features like scripting that a lot of people have taken to heart. Things like that really makes it a lot easier to join a quick coop game or for online wars. It really boggles my mind why a game with such an accessible multiplayer framework doesn't attract more players online.

It also might be because people don't have up to spec PC's. Maybe in a couple of years everybody have caught up with the state of the art technology that is CloD. I mean, I don't even play it on my rig ATM, it's just a lowly Core i3 2120@3,3GHz, 8GB RAM, SSD and a GeForce GTX550 ti. I run every other game just fine but CloD is an all together different beast, even at it's current semi-optimized state my PC struggles with it, especially when there are particle effects at play. I think if the patch will be good, thousands of players might start streaming to the servers, I have a good feeling about the retail patch.

I can't deny enjoying Clod, not that I wish to, what with a slightly embarrassing 1000hrs logged! Many of those have been spent trying to optimise the game on my system, but even this has been enjoyable.

I'm not enjoying it now though. I believe this is because my game morale is low. It seems when a new patch is released I love it, until we start discovering the faults and the positive attitude dissipates.

There's plenty of fun available to me in the game now as it stands but only for as long as I can see past the faults.

I'm hopeful with each patch that it will be sufficiently good to raise and sustain my morale.

Just my thoughts,

Septic.

Great to see you FS guys here coming over to clod. I used to fly exclusively on your SOV server and Spit vs 109 mod in IL-2. I think you guys ran a great server.

I will for sure be back on ATAG flying the 110 so you in your Spit will not be so much of an underdog, lol

See you guys out there. (Smiley face with frothy beer mug)

People aren't playing it because its not finished yet, plain and simple.
Offliners are the beating heart of any game, and that's where your new onliners come from. When you cant get the offline game to work in much of any way shape or form no one will try it online.
Personally I used to enjoy IL2 online and Co-op very much. But with CoD so much is lacking (and its not for lack of a PC-i7 2600K@4.5ghz/GTX580/16gb RAM/SSD) or broken that Im simply not willing to try with it. Like getting blood from a stone.

I'm willing to bet that when you have:
Correct FM's/DM's
Working radio comms
Functional AI
Functioning particle effects
No graphical glitches
accurate maps/colors
Overall stability
And most importantly 3D PARTY SUPPORT

you will see a much different scene with CoD in all respects.

I mean guys, I understand that you enjoy the game, and thats great, but do you really believe the game is 100%?

When it is, they will play in droves.
If you build it they will come so to speak.
