Hello all
Can someone help me to set the british compasses? I do it like this: 1. Adjust the magnetic compass so that the paralell lines on the glass are paralell with the north-south-line. I take the white T-Bar as north. 2. Adjust the Directional Gyro with the (value from the magnetic compass) -10°. The -10° is something i found here on the forums. I do it pretty much like in this video, except for the -10°: However when I play the 1. Hurricane Introduction-Mission (111. sqn) from the Desastersoft addon, I get 0° instead of the 180 degrees i should get on the runway. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: Found: You have to have your engine running for a couple of minutes. Wait until the artificial horizon is correct, then adjust the magnetic compas. But still: Are the -10° correct?

Yes the -10° are correct, at second world war the difference between magnetic and geografic Northpol was around 10° West dependend on Location.
for example 1940-07-03 it was around -10° 23' 36" in London or -9° 3' 52" in Dunkirk. Here you can find a calculator for this problem: http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomag-web/#declination Last edited by FG28_Kodiak; 07-03-2012 at 04:30 PM. |
