I could never play IL2 again regardless of the glitches and issues we have in this sim.

The Memory leak introduced after the last official patch was the reason I stopped playing just because 45 minutes isn't long enough to take off climb, patrol engage and land and inevitably we would crash at the engage part.

This patch has made quite a positive difference for me in the smoothness and the memory leak crashes are gone but I do get the occasional random crash instead but hey it's a test patch released so that they can collect the crash files much quicker than if they were testing themselves and leaves them free to fix the bugs we find.

I have been a fan who became more and more jaded to the point that I didn't want to fly but this patch has reignited my interest and I have found myself playing more and more even against the AI thanks to Von Pilsner's AI Tweak which makes fighting the AI more fun.

You can find player built missions and yes there are much less of them at the moment but they are there. Also dig in to the FMB which is a bit daunting I admit but it's not quite as bad as it looks....I should follow my own advice there

More $.02. It is worth $50USD. For those of us that have been waiting for "Storm of War" since 10 years ago, it was, kind of still is a little, really frustrating to pay $50+ and have the thing not work very well. This left a very sour taste in many peoples' mouths, which is understandable. However, this sim is nothing short of amazing and they have got it to where it is at least stable enough to launch and play. It still has bugs, but as long as they continue to strive to fix it and expand it, it can only get better.

I just hope that the off-line campaign will be addressed someday. My biggest disapointment is that there is no dynamic campaign. I used to love flying on-line with my old squad-mates in IL2 and CFS2/3 but there are/were times, I just want to pretend and the off-line campaign would satisfy this itch.

My performance got progressively worse from patch to patch and the game looks very bad now. They butchered everything that looked good in this game and it just puts me off everytime I'm playing.
I have two older instals and the difference is shocking. I just can't understand how could you make a game run worse after you chopped off everything that made it look good.
why dont you post some comparison screenshots, since you still have both installed

on initial release the lighting looked pretty stunning, but if you had no micro stutters combined with low fpsec's even on a higher end machine, you might have been one of the exceptions (it was unplayable on my mid end pc)

i agree that as 1c & Co cut and chopped things out of the game to try and get higher fpsec's, the game progressively looked less good, partic in lighting, scenery color tones, and clouds etc..
