As far as the game itself is concerned, patch or no patch, online play can be terrific. Ditto designing your own missions/campaigns in FMB.

Sure the Launcher crashes are there online, but all you do is clear the cache and jump back in.

We'd all like to see the patch released for a lot of reasons, but the idea that the game is useless without it is just plain wrong.

But one thing's for sure, you won't find help and support for your gaming needs by lurking in the Pilot's Lounge.
oh don't get me wrong, I like that a lot, it's strong and going, but it doesn't change the scenario that we're in. Sometimes I wonder if it would be worth closing the general thread page until things are sorted out.

As for the pilot's lounge, seeking help there is not the way to go, if people think of it as a solution they're fools.

I personally like the fact that there's still a lot that comes out and can be shared in the pilot's lounge.

Am I flying CoD at the moment? No. It's not performing well enough on my machine, and I still feel like the issues that will soon be addressed with the patch might take me back to it, but until then no, I've spent too much looking at that icon on the desktop wondering what was worse, not having the sim or having it and it doesnt work for you..

After exactly one such 'debate' - 15 pages in fact - I saw the light of the ignore list too. Inane remarks and quips are so much less offensive when you don't have to see them unless you choose to, even if that is ultimately a sign of lacking self control. But then we're only human, most of us are not immune to feigned ignorance and offensive remarks.

I just hope you are including both sides of the fence to this statement.
yeah, this is an observation referred to ALL of us. I don't believe in the fanboy/whiner division, I just think people have different thresholds of "not feeling someone's taking the pi$$ on me", that's it. It's not like we're not all fans, we wouldn't be here, it's that some of us have waited for far too long after far too many promises.

Believe it or not I can sympathise 100% with that sentiment, I never mean to deny these beliefs or their individual validity, youv'e lost faith and thats entirely your decision.......I don't believe in god but I'm not going to crash my local church and shout 'why am I forsaken?' and tell everyone they are just stupid 'god fanbois'.

The reality we have is that some people feel unhappy with the game or aspects of it and feel the need to say so. Other people either are content with the game or resent the sometimes aggressive tone of the complaints.

Honestly, I can see both sides of the argument.

But in all the months it has been raging where has the arguing got anyone? I'm not aware of anyone from either camp having a blinding flash of insight at the outstanding argument put up by the other side, seeing the error of his ways and changing his opinion. Instead it just goes round and round, like goldfish in a tank - apparently unaware that they did exactly the same thing 3 days ago, 2 weeks ago, 4 months ago...

The thing I'd like ALL those who are arguing to realise is that THEY are the ones who are doing most to damage this forum and the game at the present time. It has got totally out of hand - so many threads are being hijacked to provide a vehicle for the point-scoring and one-upmanship. What you - ALL of you - are doing is annoying other forum users and turning them off even wanting to come here.

Two points for the mods. I have started using the ignore list, but

1. It doesn't work unless you are logged in. I usually only log in when I want to post, so it's not always effective.

2. It seems a little unfair to expect two or three hundred other forum users to have to change how they use the forum rather than the six or seven people who cause the problem.

I believe you.

Of course. You would never deny these beliefs or their individual validity (could I perhaps borrow these words for a Sunday sermon? They have an evangelical zeal which goes straight to the heart of the subject, and a sincerity which is hard to match. Almost divine, in fact.)

>>I don't believe in god but I'm not going to crash my local church and shout 'why am I forsaken?' and tell everyone they are just stupid 'god fanbois'.<<

Of course not, though perhaps you might consider it at a later date? It is best not to rule out a Plan B, since as even the best and most morally crusading of posters such as yourself sometimes do. It is hard repelling the invading hoards, and a back-up plan can come in very useful.

Either way, it is refreshing to see such a candid and honest post and poster, who is utterly free of malice or malicious intent in every regard. Please keep up the good work.
