Default Re installed looks great now

trying the game again after the patch, updated hardware too, tried a few quick flights, the hunt one flying the german was amazing ,the sea and clouds ,planes and the sound on fly by with decent headset was stunning.

everything on max except building amount on medium. screen res 2560x1440.

feels really immersive.

i think the only thing it lacks for me is a decent campaign and more MP servers with lower pings.

very good compared to 1st day.keep it coming
thanks

Did a re-install myself after reading this thread and having a break from CoD for a while now. My installation was from day one and has had all the different beta patches etc. I sure had cleaned my cache folder and had done the Steam file validation many times. As I don't think it messes with your configuration files I did a complete cleanup and saved my user.conf etc. When I diffed these to the fresh ones I realized that they looked rather different even though it may have been ordering issues and took the hard path and reconfigured from scratch from within the game...

When I fly now it feels better without beeing able to set the finger on what, I guess it may all be placebo though It was good before too after the latest patches accept the memory leak in MP, but I feel "clean" now Have not tried MP but it would be very surprising if the memory leak that I have reproduced many times while changing skins in MP is gone...

Hi SsSsSsSsSnake,
Congrats on the new rig.

With that new rig and only 2xAA supported, the fact you have to turn anything down at all indicates optimization is order.

Hi chris

Looking at your screen resolution, you must have a Super Computer, not like my "Model T" that keeps crashing with Launcher exe failure. I'll have to pop over to your neck of the woods to see what CoD really looks like. Are you still flying in WoP?

Terry

I reinstalled CloD (together with Windows 7 ) - it looks the same. Still stutters low down, still on AA, still no CTD-s. Oh well, I'll just have to wait for the new graphics engine

PS: I went back flying RoF a bit - damn ,I wish CloD was at least half as smooth as RoF is now

Not played in WoP since I got into CloD. After CoD, WoP cockpit graphics are a little naff. In general, my low spec PC flies well, usually in the 40-60fps range with mostly medium settings, low forest, and no grass on. My problem is Launcher exe failure when I get in "fur balls" or (most frustrating), when I'm about to down some dumb smuck. I can fly for hours in non combat situations. I think the performance I do get is down to my MSI N460GTX 1GB GPU that's OC'd to an inch of it's life. I live in hope that the memory bleed problem that I believe is causing my Launcher exe failure, will cured in the next update, and support is given to quad core CPU's. As things stand, I'm not in a position to change out my PC until this time next year, so I'll have to battle on as I am. Only about half of my JS109 Squad have made the transition to CloD from WoP, mostly because of PC compatibility. I'll keep a look out for your postings and hope catch you flying sometime.

Take care

Terry
