Can we haz it pliz?
![]() Early Spits had that, and it would be great to have it modeled in CloD too. I remember it was a feature in old Il2, on Wildcats for example. |

That would require some 3d model rework. I am all for it but I am afraid with the devs being busy with other things that's not gonna happen. Mind you that only the early early spit has had this 'feature' in which case we are also talking different aerial, different canopy, Woodbridge propeller, no Squeeker etc... As far I recall, typical BoB Spitfire Mk.I already had the modern features.
I see A2A signature, I believe you fly their Spitty in FSX - in that case the Mk.I of theirs is representing the very first batch except for propeller control. Spitfire cockpit needs most attention anyway - as it is now it's a mixture of later marks and early marks. Animated trims needs doing, too. Prop control for de Havilland is not right (should be the bicycle pump), fuel cocks should be 2 and there also should be 2 fuel tank indicators (except for Mk.II). Mk.II starter should be Coffman cartridge with loud bang instead of electric starter. Anyway, as it is it's close enough, just nitpicking ![]() What you're asking for is perhaps a very early Spit variant as used in BoF / Dunkirque era.

Thanks for your reply. I agree that the Spitfire cockpit needs a lot of reworking.
A waybridge Spitfire would be quite useless in this game, and I believe that in June 1940 Spits still had this manual pump undercarriage - Geoffrey Wellum's first flight was in such a machine. Therefore I think that having this on our MkI wouldn't be far off. But yes, it would require some new 3D models and this is not a priority when the game itself is so bugged. |

Hi,
There would have been Spitfire Mk1 aircraft flying during BoB with pump action u/c units. if the serial number first character denotes build order, then one could say K, L and N serialled had them, note Casenoves P9374 which crashed in May 1940 and now flies again at Duxford features the pump action as the wreckage had such. It was also a three blader by the way. Was there time to fit the automatic units with the BoB in full swing, only study of what was recovered from each dig would tell us, and unfortunately detailed records were not kept by the recovery groups all the time. RoBo...it looks like we are forever stuck with a later Mark cockpit as the team have stopped work on CloD. A list of the errors etc required I flagged up yonks ago. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.ph...ml#Post3003475 Never was tackled even during development, comms proved impossible. I wonder which of these are accessible to fix by skinners and which need access to the source code itself ? Colour the seat green would be easy. Add an amp gauge to the blank space maybe, as 2D ! Alter colour of gunbutton to red and brass. If source code needed, we can but hope a member of their team tackle it in their own time and post a fix, dont hold your breath though. Get someone to hack into the code ? nice hacking ! And get the Mk1 spinner onto the Mk1a. Fed up of seeing Mk2 spits everywhere, BOBC |

I've always believed it was aluminium with red button in Spits, brass in Hurris |

Have you maped keys to the munally raise and lower the landing gear?
A graphics rework to remove the gear switch is probably out of the question, but you could just ignore it. Cheers! |
