I find the new music to be quite fitting; it really captures the 'Spirit' and essence of CoD at present, I.E....depressing as *bleep*.

I just can't see what the devs worked on for the last 4 weeks? Are there any improvements from the last beta patch? How could they miss the bug with the effects causing massive slowdowns/freezes/crashes?

I think the new patch overall has been an improvement.. I enjoy the new colors and lighting.. The planes are alot more clearer to see now on background terrain/water as the gauges are in the cockpits. I think things are more smoother (fps and freezing) also. The only problem is the god awful crash your whole game bug when a plane hits the ground and explodes. (haha)

All in all I think its a good improvement. The Effects lock up bug being the biggy that needs fixing ASAP.

Some of the good things. Vne has been tweaked to more realistic values. BF109 is good for 730Kmh + before it starts getting lively. BF110 snaking starts around 650Kmh. Sound cueing for high speed is better. This is going to enhance the flight envelopes dramatically. I haven't tested any other aircraft yet.

Stall Buffet is enhanced and is even better.

Auto prop pitch is working exceptionally well and easily keeps up with IAS/TAS changes.
BF109 Rads work just fine as long as you Toggle them to manual (R key). The Default Eng rad position is fully open. Once the R key is pressed they work just as before.

RAF Serial numbers are now back to being Black with Sqn codes grey.

Unfortunately the Sand blockage in the river near Le Havre is still there (I havent checked the Thames blockage yet).

Terrain colours ... not to bad personally I think I preferred the first Beta. Same goes for the cockpit colours.

BF109,Spit.Hurricane no longer have pneumatic sounds for gear selection ... which is correct as they were Hydraulic.

So its not all gloom and doom imo, showstopper is the Effects lock up.

so, apart from an issue with the effects it doesnt sound too bad, hopefully they can quickly sort out a fix and we can get into some serious testing instead of some of the hysteria and carry on kneejerk reactions we seem to get in the first couple of hours after a release! Cheers for the sanity IvanK, sorak, and xnomad !

Cheers
Craig

We have a hotfix for the particle effect issue that caused CTDs at the first explosion.

I edited the link plus some additional information into the OP.

Disclaimer: I like the new cockpit Buy a monochrome monitor if you really can't stand some colour in CoD because most WWII footage was in B/W... really.

Oh, here we go again! People start major rants about the cocpit colours, luthier is buying that and the "fixing" frenzy starts all over again, while there's still no working AI comm system. Yay, that's a bright outlook...again!

Thanks

Good news about the hotfix being done very quickly for the CTD

Any news on if there will be a fix for the severe performance hit?

Cockpit colors stay.

I think you just need to get used to them a bit, or not play at high noon for a while.

Check your anti-epilepsy, did it turn on by itself by any chance?

We don't see a severe performance hit ourselves on any of the hardware we are running it on so far.
