Do you think if we told them we our currently playing 'clod' that they would let us sit in the cockpits haha

The flyable planes were finished at Meier Motors in EDGT Bremgarten.

Check out the projects on their website..

Here is the update of the nearly finished T9 Spit:

The best address for the "cockpit feel" is the Luftfahrtmuseeum in Hannover Laatzen.
For a small donation, you can sit in the bf-109G2, FW-190A8 and Spit Mark19 cockpits. It's a great experience to compare the different layouts and views...
