Question What controls COD shipping date for U.S.

Can anyone tell me what the condition of the simulater needs to be in before UBI finally free's the sim to be sold in the United States? I've had an order in to Amazon since March and it has been delayed twice now-- currently looking at middle of July as potential release date-- but like I said thats been delayed twice already a week or so before each date. Are there specific features or problems that need to be fixed before US players get a chance to fly. I've seen some really great video's from European computer sim flyers. It seems that some people are having a great BOB experience and others seem exasperated-- are their extreme expectations of this sim-- looks pretty good from what I've seen.

I got it from Just Flight last week when it was on sale.I believe the sale is off now.The parts that run are nice and I am enjoying it.But I am not a stickler for historical accuracy.

With the Steam patching system you will have the newest version at the time of the North American release. It is even possibly that it could be newer if a patch is released after the disk goes gold.

I too, was going to wait for the North American release but since the only difference(to me) was the physical disk(the boxed copy has no printed manual) I decided on the digital download and will take the PDF manual to the local printer to print it out.It is worth it to me to pay the printer than to print 120 pages on a ink eating inkjet printer.

COD was released in the East before it was finished, to generate much needed cash flow. The early release also generated a considerable amount of negative publicity because of frame rate issues, aswell as unfinished and missing features. It was either release COD unfinished or drop the project all together.

There is still a considerable amount of work required to finish COD, and most of it won't be finished for the Western release, but it should draw far less negative publicity. There will be another patch around the middle of June and probably atleast one more after that before the release in the West.

Even with the many unfinished and missing features COD still has alot of entertainment value and will only get better for years to come as features are added by the developers and modders.

TBH they will need to produce a super patch before US release if they want to not get netagive publicity because the game although some of its features are good, is only 50% working bare bones content. I find it real sad this happened

Ubi was smart to delay the North American release date. It's sounds like a stereotype, but N. American consumers are more likely to not only to avoid a product that gets bad reviews/word of mouth, but more likely to advertise this fact to anyone who will listen. If it was release in N.A. the same time it was released everywhere else all you would be able to see when Googleing "Cliffs of Dover" would be negative review, rants on blogs, and hundreds of youtube videos bashing the game.

I think they realized that the average European gamer is a little more tolerant of bugs and patches than us over here.

I went to Just Flight website, they have the following note at the end of COD product summary:

Please note - due to publisher's restriction, this game is not available for sale from European websites to the United States of America.

Well, try to use a "proxy". With luck it's a IP block and not a credit card address block.

Just ignore it.Put it in your cart and continue.Change location to "rest of the world".

You might get an error message.Ignore it and continue to checkout.I got my activation code right then after the transaction was complete.I took that code and used it to activate on Steam and d/led.(Steam has some fast servers)
