Default How's the X45 Throttle?

I want a FFB stick and a throttle with rotary controls (for trim) so was thinking of a MSFFB2 and a X45 throttle. I'm just after the throttle but can't get it separate from the stick so cheaper to get X45 over X52

I've owned and loved the MSFFB2 but anyone here who can give some info on the X45 throttle?

Yeah V, I can help you out. I had one for years and had a dead button in three years of use. Not bad considering what they cost. I like the Saitek MS combo. I am using a Logitech G940 and growing tired of it more and more by the day. I highly recomend you try out the X45 if its new, no worries, if its used, Try all the buttons and make sure they work. Dont shy away from one or two dead ones(for a fair price of course). You can get around this by using my programing tricks. You will find yourself still having a LOT of buttons.

Good Luck

Have MSFFB2 and X45 for 6years now, probably for the next 6 years, too....
(have 3-4 MSFFB2 in stock)

X45 throttle is good, X52 throttle is better (more sliders ).
I would love to have a Warthog throttle but price makes it less sensible.

I solved my problems by buying two Saitek Throttle Quadrants extra so I have enough "sliders" for trims, radiators, prop-pitch for a twin engine fighter such as ME110.
The nice thing is that you can setup double throttles in CoD so that I have the throttle of engine #1 (or all selected engines) on the X45 but at the same time I have a throttle for engine #1 and a throttle for engine #2 on the throttle quadrant as well.

Summarizing, X45 Throttle is great value for money.
In addition, you can use the additional keys on the X45 Joystick to set up other keys as well (I have the Eject procedure on the SAFE button on the X45 stick).

Thank you for the feedback. Cool to see that others like that combo!
Gonna pick up a used x45 throttle this coming weekend unless I find a x52 closer by.

Another Q; from what I understand the x45 throttle has these rudder axis button but what does the x52 has instead?

That'll save me a button. Ejecting is for chickens and pornstars.
Funny thing, I was ejecting once but the shute never opened. I was puzzled but thought this was a kewl feature.
Then I remembered that I had opt out the chute in the Pilot menu. Ouch.

Vengeanze

X-45 throttle dont have you own USB controller - depend of X-45 joystick controller to work.

Some people merge stick circuit into throttle base:

This give you some additional rotary (X and Y of RIP stick) and buttons.

Or turn the stick (necessary to control X-45 throttle) in some (nice) button bay:

X-52 throttle control both throttle and stick, so you can use X-52 throttle stand alone - with other brand joysticks.

That sux. But nice solutions there. Too bad I don't know the hot side from the handle on a soldering iron.

Send it please! I can always do with one SWFFB2 in my collection...

Otherwise, yes I can, if I can fixe your problem by putting in the microwave, you are welcome...

On a more serious note, I really wish I could do what these guys in the pictures are doing with their joysticks but, no chance

Anyway good to see such things, it expands the horizon
(did you see what that guy did to the mouse control of the X45 throttle!!!??? (pic #2) :O )
