Default Could the next patch to have 'real' smoke effects? Il2 more than capable.Examples vid

It has long been a real irritation for me when flying IL2 to see Modded versions with superb smoke effects.

I can appreciate that this may be an issue with Contrails as these could easily overload the Graphics engine so these could be kept 2D, but in close-combat the 2D sprite of Smoke is such an immersion killer I wonder if it is possible to consider allowing 3D smoke into the simulation?

The difference would be substantial and a real welcome addition....as would tracer smoke from wings..etc, etc.

Could DT ever consider this please?

A close-up example of engine smoke can be seen from 1m 30s:

And here is the promo for more effects at his website....this guy does incredible work:

Fully agree on this one, these new effects do not cause any fps issues from my own experience and they are such a dramatic improvement over the stock effects that I can hardly fly without them anymore. Just thinking of the stock engine fire effects gives me chills...

It would certainly have to be an option...I don't think I can run those effects at a playable fps. My card handles smoke particles very poorly.

I'd love to see an option here for sure. Most of us have cards now that blow these extra smoke effects away without any problems. Some still have older cards and I wouldn't want to make it mandatory for them.

The other thing I'd love to see is the smoke moving in the same direction as the wind. We have wind now so have the smoke vector in the same direction. That'd be very cool.

Are you being silly or something? You're not capable of dragging a folder into your game?

Not officially, no I can't? Can you, and if you can, tell me how you can do it with the un-modded version?

Cheers, MP
