Default 109 flap keys

I'm still using my IL-2 stick profile, modified only where strictly neccesary.

Consequently, my flaps up/down is mapped to the C & V keys.

This works as expected in the Spit and Hurri. Flaps go up, flaps come down.

But not in the 109. I get blue text up in an info window telling me the flaps move to nuetral, but never further, and I can't see them coming down in exterior view.

Any pointers?

You must hold the flaps-down-key a loooong time.
Takes abt 30sec to fully extend the flaps in the 109.

You mean just keep holding the flap key down?

I didn't think of that!

Yup.
Look at the flap as you extend it - and just hold the key pressed.
Takes along time to fully extend.

This happens with every control that was manual in the real aircraft.

So, if for example you want to extend the gear by using an emergency hand-pump mechanism you'll have to hold down the appropriate key as well.

This is also how the bomb bay doors work in the Ju88, because in the real one the bombardier had a hand-crank to manually open them. In other bombers that use an electric/hydraulic/whatever motor you just press the key once.

Hope it helps

Thanks guys.

So I should make a stick profile for the 109 and Ju88.

Any idea how many key presses I should put in the Macro?

you seem to have missed what people are telling you.

you need to hold the key down for 30 seconds, not rapidly press the key

Ah, OK, so I set the macro for a 30 sec key press.

That's no problem.

I guess it's the same for flaps up too?

Thanks.
