I agree that the price of new release PC games in Australia is very expensive, but $89 seems to be the standard price for most new releases. At least we can purchase a copy now! Also, IL2 is a game that you don't just play through once or twice, so if you divide the price by the many years we will be playing this for it comes in at pretty good value.

Talking DVD version in local shop tomorrow March 24.2011

Yes! That's how it says on the local game shop's web site right now here in Finland, the DVD version for 45 €.
I saw it too late to phone them for confirmation, they had already closed for the day.

Will call them tomorrow morning, and if the info proves correct I'll rush to get my copy straight away.

Sounds almost too good to be true.

Cheers

Pre-ordered. I've given up on the prospect of a CE over here but would still like a physical DVD for my collection.

Usthal, even if they would be able to sell it to you tomorrow, you won't be able to play it until 31st because of the steam activation that only allows you to start playing on 31th of march.
However, I highly doubt you will get it from Finland in shops till 2th of April, as that is when Verkkokauppa gets it and their stock is coming straight from the importer (maahantuoja).

That's why I preordered mine straight from steam as a download version, to make sure I will be able to play it on 31st of March.
