Default Collector's Ed from UBI UK may arrive on 22nd?

I've just placed my order for the CE with UBI UK.

Release date for the CE is listed on my order confirmation as Monday 21st March.

There are two postage options - standard 2 - 4 day, and exorbitantly priced 1-3 day delivery option. (I chose the standard. )

The thing is - anyone having splashed out on the expensive option could conceivably have the game by next Tuesday 22nd!

So we may get some advance reviews from the early birds out there...

---
Edit: BUGGER! Seems that I overlooked the necessity for unlocking the game on steam!
...or can anyone with experience of Steam confirm this would be necessary?

Should be able to provide a full feature list from the printed manual at least...

I haven't heard of any game yet that has been advanced, only delayed.

Well I guess IF Ubishop dispatch on the 21 / 22nd as some are showing, And they have paid for express delivery, then Yes it is practical for some of us to have it by 22 / 23rd. However certainly with previous Steam Games that have turned up early, it wouldn't let you install or play until the release date. Rather frustrating. That said, that was trying to install through steam. If as some have said you can install via disc, then there may be a way to run it. Guess we will find out when it's finally released.

Yep same issue I've had with all my Steam Games so far. However I did always just click install, rather than telling Steam to only use Disc, I understand from some members you can do this in steam. Not tried it myself so dont know if this will work. I suspect not, but you never know. Also all those games, you have been able to pre order on Steam. Now as we are all aware CoD isn't on Steam to Pre order, So that may make a difference, If theres no date programmed into Steam, It cant tell us its not Released right.

To be honest IF the dates correct, ( not holding my breath ) And Ubishop gets them out before release date, I think we may only have a day or two at most to wait until the proper release and for Steam to allow us to install. Yes I know having CoD sat next to the computer and not being able to fly will be hard, but whats another couple of days to what we have been through to get here. Think i'll just spend the time flying my Camel, or A10, Depending which era I want to travel to. Or if I'm missing 1940, then I always have Dark Blue Sky and Battle of Britain to watch over again

Well i have Shogun 2 on my desk atm and I'am watching the last samurai (I know rubbish film, an american samurai wtf and to make matter worse hes a scientologist ) and deciding which faction I am going to play , really i should be doing my final year project but hell IL2:COD is out in 11 days there is no way im going to be able to concentrate.....

BTW... i cant be the only one who hates the COD abbreviation, any kind of link to the call of duty games is shameful.... its ironic that Olegs team spends 6 years working on a small ever decreasing genre with small returns and on the hand we have Activison who release bugged rubbish games that do not move forward in anyway. COD:4 was good but since then they have used the same engine with virtually no updates and yet somehow have destroyed everything I liked about COD:4 .

How dare you slag him off! You obviously haven't seen the extended director's cut where the aliens land and he's whisked off to live happily ever after.

I recommend "Shogun the series" Its old from the eighties with Richard Chamberlain but its an awsome series. I bought the dvd box and some day I will read the book.
