XP seems to have less problems with IL-2 anyway. As for downloading, it works well for some, but it can sometimes be troublesome. If you don't have DVD, downloading from a reputable supplier should be ok. A lot of us prefer the physical security that actually having the disk offers. You will enjoy all the new features in '46, and don't forget to apply the latest patches for even more goodies.

If I did buy it, it would be from www.direct2drive.com you can always re-download it if you need to, but I backup the games to CD-R anyway.

Reagarding the QMB maps, I found this post in the IL-2 Ubisoft forums.

Has anyone played this camapign with IL-2: FB v1.22?, in the description it says: "A 20 mission desert campaign for Forgotten Battles V2.+ based on historical events." In the game column it says IL2: FB. I tried loading the campaign, it shows up in the list, but it fails to load, I have the Ace expansion pack, but it's not installed.
The Blue http://il2-sturmovik.de.ubi.com/en/missions.php Any recommendations for single missions and campaigns for IL-2: FB v1.22?. I'd like to play some North Africa maps, are there any?. |

That is a REALLY good North Africa campaign for the Luftwaffe but you need 4.08 (IL-2 1946). I forget when we got the first desert map and if any campaigns were made on it or not...

Probable in BoB we will give users to make own sets of maps and rework of our own presets (blank missions) - for this we simply show keep open the directories on hard disk where it is placed. And.... and of course to give end user some map tools, which we plan to release some time after the BoB release itself.
