Waiting for this Patch is Like waiting for an Answer from the American Goverment. they deny everything and wont argue with an exlusive answer that confirms - or denies it?

To be Honest. I allready gave up Hope for the Patch. I have a Long Breath. but this takes it too far.

my biggest gripe is the BS "stick compatibile" ( but only if you don't want to stop...)

Sequel? Nah...won't happen...I can't think of a game with poor sales that went on to develop a highly successful sequel, but I'd love to be corrected on that...

Define "poor sales" ?

Yes, this game didn't sell big but then I doubt the publishers ever expected it to and thus gave the devs a budget with that in mind. So you have absolutly no idea how profitable BoP was. All we know is that the patch on PS3 was deemed not to be increasing sales so to keep their profit as high as posible no patch was bought for the 360.

Also a sequel would likly not be a brand new game. more like an expansion pack using the same graphics engine and reusing textures, it would cost much less to develop and produce than BoP.

Battlestations -midway had a sequel and that couldn't have sold any better than BoP.

see this is what f505ks me off...they cancel patch to maintain profit when the patch should have been released to comply with trades description...i.e. flightstick compatible.

I always said that the numerous and well known bugs in the flight physics models of realistic and simulator modes would be pretty much impossible to fix on a game core system that loads off of a DVD as opposed to a hard drive.

When Taldren fixed all the bugs in Star Fleet Command on the PC, they issued a whole new software core free in 2001. They actually issued another further free upgrade software core the same way in 2002.

Star Fleet Command is the PC version of the famous board game Star Fleet Battles and the number one reason that Star Trek Legacy flopped and sank without trace on the PC as everybody measured it up against SFC.

It is pretty easy to issue replacement software cores for games on hard drive loading systems, they can be changed.

However, DVDs are set in stone and a replacement DVD would be required to be issued, which isn't practical.

Let's just wait for the sequel and hope that 1C reverts back to using Ubisoft as a distributer again.

Despite its failings, BOP is the best WW2 flight simulator game around on the consoles.
