Problem starting KB with new monitor

So I just got a new monitor and have it hooked to my laptop. I'm using the new monitor as the primary screen and the original laptop monitor is set not to display anything (its small and crappy and I'd rather not use it while at home). King's Bounty does not like this for some reason as the game won't start.

However, if I set my screens so that the original laptop monitor is the primary monitor King's Bounty will start just fine, whether or not I have dual screens set with the new monitor. But once I switch it back so that the new monitor is the primary screen, King's Bounty refuses to start, whether or not I have dual screens set.

I'm very confused and can't determine a solution. Any ideas?
