Bahahahahaha! Again completely off topic, but I didn't feel like making another thread: http://customsites.yahoo.com/financi...l?ywaad=ad0035

Read the first part about the PS3... "Unlike its competitors, which use replaceable AA batteries, the PS3's remote control is glued shut. When the battery goes, Sony customers have to blow $55 on a new controller. Sony says there's an "environmental benefit" since gamers don't have to toss their batteries on a regular basis"

Are you freaking kidding me? How stupid can you be? a recharge cable came in the same box!

I think the point is that rechargeable batteries don't last forever. I've already had to replace both of mine in my 360 controllers. Luckily, I got a pair of them for about $12. If I'd had to buy 2 new controllers, it would've been closer to $100.

Bought me ps3 one month after release (almost three years ago I think) and although I've bought the new DS3, the battery in my original controller wtill holds a long charge

I've only had to buy 2 new battery packs in 3 years (actually one came with my red pad) and that was alot cheaper than i wouldve spent on batteries. It's good you can do that with 360. I didn't realise ps3 couldn't.

They must have the controller confused with the blu-ray remote. Either that, or they mean when the battery is no longer rechargeable. All rechargeables have only a certain number of times before they're too worn out to recharge.

However neither the sixaxis nor the ds3 is glued shut. If they had a screwdriver, they could have figured that out. The only barrier to opening them is a little piece of thin plastic that acts like a warranty seal. So the batteries are replaceable, if you can find a place to buy a new one.

In my experience the sticks lose their ability to centre properly long before the battery fails to hold charge. I'm on my 4th pair of controllers now...
